Brydget is a specialist in mediation/arbitration for workplace, medico-legal, insurance, family, environmental and cross-cultural matters both domestica and internationally.
In 2010 she was appointed to the International Finance Corporation (World Bank Group) as the “International Consultant in ADR to the National Court of PNG”. The consultancy includes work in PNG for an initial 2 months and 3-4 separate months next year and for a further 2 years. The project will develop both a mediation service to the courts and business in PNG and review and update arbitration practices.
Brydget has a unique skill set encompassing science and law with extensive ADR experience as a Negotiator, Mediator, Adjudicator and Arbitrator. She specialises in the MedArb process and has recently been awarded the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators / ACICA – Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration. She is regularly consulted on commercial, workplace and family disputes; chairs / facilitates contentious meetings and develops and delivers focused training.
She is also a Queensland Supreme & District Courts accredited mediator and a Member of the Queensland Guardianship & Administrative Tribunal and the Commercial & Consumer Tribunal, IAMA and LEADR. A Mediator Member of Industry Panels: Produce & Grocery; Horticulture; Franchising; Motor Vehicle Insurance and Repair Industry; and Energy (Qld, WA). Having extensive experience in telephone conferencing, I can start immediately to move the dispute towards resolution. Face to face conferencing at the location of the dispute or a convenient location and time in Australia, Asia or the Pacific is usually needed to reveal all issues and options and working through these to achieve settlement of all matters. I welcome working in cross-cultural situations with or without interpreters and with unrepresented clients or with the assistance provided by solicitors and counsel.
